Árpád Kiss was born in 1948 in Targu-Mures, Romania. The son of Árpád Kiss, the dean of the Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, and Török Sára, a teacher of mathematics. Árpád graduated from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and then moved to Szeklerland as a mechanical engineer. In 1973, he married Klára Péter, with whom he had been happily married for 47 years. Daughters Fruzsina and Orsolya, grandchildren Attila and Réka. His only brother, István Kiss, still lives in Transylvania with his family and grandchildren.
The family immigrated to the United States in 1998. He worked here until January 6, 2014 when he became sick which ended his life at the time. Since then, he has lived in humility with unbroken faith among his loved ones, until July 22, 2020. All of his life, he was a faithful husband, a loving father, a father-in-law and a grandfather. Rest in peace.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the West Side Hungarian Reformed Church with Pastor Emery Laszlo officiating.
