Amalie Netzel

Amalie (Mollie) Netzel, age 89, passed away peacefully April 30, 2018, at Fairview Hospital with her extended family at her side following a short illness. Beloved wife of the late Edmund. Loving mother of Alma Ruhland (the late Richard), Edmund Jr., (Mary), Rosemary Flor (Richard) and the late Erich and Willie Netzel. Devoted grandmother of thirteen grandchildren and great-grandmother of thirteen. Cherished sister of Olga Koenig (Gus). Amalie immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1952 with her husband and two sons. She settled in the Cleveland area where she and Edmund raised five children. She enjoyed the simple things in life and was devoted to her family. She was an avid gardener with a "green" thumb and could nurture anything to grow. She worked for many years at Michaud's Catering & Event Center. Her beautiful smile and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Family and friends are welcome on Friday, May 4, 2018, at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors, 13115 Lorain Avenue, Cleveland, from 5-8pm, where funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday May 5, 2018. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio.
