Anika Najuma Rhein

August 29, 1972 — July 4, 2024

Cleveland, Ohio

Anika Rhein was born in Buffalo, New York on August 29, 1972, to Judy C. Lawson and the late Sherman Lawson. Anika was the only child born to this union.

Anika spent most of her childhood in Buffalo, she also lived in Miami, Florida and eventually settled in Cleveland, Ohio.

While in Cleveland, Anika met the late John Rhein Sr., her best friend and the love of her life. Anika and John married in 2001 and were married until John's untimely passing in April 2024. Anika was the proud mother of Tahara McClam, Ke'Ana Jamice Lawson and John Francis Rhein Jr. She was the loving grandmother of Riley, Grayson, Julian, Ava, John and Jayana.

Anika loved to SHOP, and she made sure she was prepared for a "rainy day". She attributes this being prepared to her late grandmother, Catherine Dial. Also like her grandmother, she was a "fashionista".

Anika had a passion for cooking and had an admiration for Chef Bobby Flay. She often prepared delicious dishes for her family.

Anika was admired and respected for her strength and fortitude in how she met challenges in her life and was able to overcome them with dignity.

Anika departed this life suddenly on July 4, 2024. Left to cherish her memory are her loving mother, Judy, her three children and her six beautiful grandchildren. Anika's aunts, Dorothy Potts and Martha (BiBi) Potts will miss her dearly, as well as a host of cousins, extended family members and friends.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Slone & Co. Funeral Directors.
