Barbara Berenda, age 85, of Cleveland, Ohio, loving and dedicated mother, aunt, and grandmother was brought in to this world on June 22, 1938 to the late Roxie and Sophia (Scharf) Elardo. After graduating from Cuyahoga Heights High School in 1956, she went to work for the East Ohio Gas Company for thirteen years.
She passed away on January 7, 2024 in Cleveland.
Barbara is survived by her loving daughters, Suzanne Dychko (Jack) and Marybeth Dychko. She was a devoted grandmother to Matthew, Brandon, and Haylie Kulina, Jazmine Dychko, and great-grandmother to Autumn, Carley, Vinnie, and Frankie. She also leaves behind her sisters Beth Elardo (Randy) and Patti Keener (Steve). Barbara will be fondly remembered as a loving neighborhood mom and grandma to all.
Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Elardo.
Known for her warm and caring nature, Barbara was a phenomenal cook, creating delicious meals that brought joy to those around her. She had a passion for crocheting and had a soft spot for cats and animals. Barbara's generosity knew no bounds, and she was a wonderful caregiver, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Barbara's vibrant spirit, silliness, and kind-hearted nature left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will be cherished by her family and friends.
May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave during her time on Earth.
