Carol Sue Flores passed away on July 2, 2023, at the age of 77. She was born on October 14, 1945, in Sardis, West Virginia, to Martha O. Gazso and William Gazso Sr., both of whom have preceded her in death. Carol was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Inocencio Flores.
Carol was a devoted mother to her daughter, Sherry L. Gazso, and took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Jenna N. Gazso. She cherished her role as a great-grandmother to Jett M. Gazso and Kyra J. Gazso. Carol shared a special bond with her family, and their love and support brought her great joy throughout her life.
She was the sister of James A. Gazso and the late William Gazso Jr., Joseph J. Gazso, and William Gazso Jr. (also known as Little Billy). Carol was an aunt to Charles Gazso, Michael A. Gazso, Joseph J. Gazso Jr., and the late John A. Gazso. She held a special place in the hearts of her many nieces and nephews and was a great aunt to many more.
Carol had a vibrant personality and a zest for life. Her favorite color was purple, a reflection of her unique spirit. She had a sweet tooth and delighted in the taste of lemon meringue pie. Carol found solace and joy in spending time on her computer, engaging in long conversations with her cherished family and friends, and indulging in reruns of her favorite shows on Netflix. She also loved being outdoors, appreciating the beauty of nature that surrounded her.
One of Carol's defining characteristics was her selflessness. She always prioritized the well-being and happiness of others, even during her own challenging moments. Carol's resilience and determination shone through until the very end, earning her the reputation of being one tough cookie.
During her final days, Carol received exceptional care and support from her aide, Johnson (Brittany). Johnson became like family to Carol, providing unwavering assistance and companionship. Carol developed a deep affection for Johnson, and her presence brought immense comfort and gratitude to Carol and her loved ones.
Carol Sue Flores will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
