On July 20, 2023, our beloved Catrice D. Bailey left this world far too soon, at the tender age of 24. Catrice was born on May 28, 1999, in Cleveland, OH, to her loving parents, Merrick C. Bailey Sr. and Catrice M. Smith. She was a cherished sister to Merrick C. Bailey Jr., Alecia K. Parker, Rakim R. Holland, and Emmanuel I. Smith. Her presence brought joy to the lives of her family, and she held a special place in their hearts. Catrice was also a proud aunt to Katrice L. Bailey, showering her with love and care.
Catrice was a granddaughter who brought happiness and pride to Christine E. Smith, and she shared special bonds with her aunts and uncles: Calecia R. Young, Charlene Y. Uche, Charles H. Smith, Nina L. Phillips, Monty M. Phillips, Clinton M. Young, Credella Porter, and Melvin Bailey. Her family meant the world to her, and she treasured the moments spent with them.
As a cousin, Catrice had a close relationship with Donna Porter, as well as with her aunt, Calecia Smith. Their bond was one of love, support, and shared memories. Catrice's vibrant spirit and warm smile had a way of bringing people together, and she leaves behind a legacy of cherished moments and unforgettable experiences.
Catrice had many passions in life. She adored makeup, fashion, and collecting stuffed animals, which reflected her creative and fun-loving nature. One of her great joys was listening to old school R&B music, which always brought comfort and nostalgia to her heart.
Catrice had aspirations of becoming a massage therapist, and she invested her time in honing her craft. She practiced on her mom and her aunt Calecia, and her dedication was evident in her pursuit of excellence. Her mother supported her dreams wholeheartedly, purchasing the supplies needed to pursue her passion. Additionally, Catrice found joy in providing pedicures, making others feel pampered and cared for through her skilled hands.
She will be fondly remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the love she shared with all who knew her. Catrice's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.
