Christopher Kustra

Christopher Chester Kustra (66), born December 12th, 1958, passed away peacefully at Holy Family Hospice on March 6th, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Known as Rooster, he was a Union Local 5 Bricklayer for over 30 years. He worked hard and played hard and was always the life of the party, but his biggest joy and pride in life was being a Dad and a Crazy Papa/ Grandpa Rooster to his eight grandchildren, Kristoffer, Avery, Aria, Johnny, Dominic, Bryson, Kyle, and Paige.

In addition to his love for his family and friends, Rooster was an avid music lover with a fondness for classic rock, especially The Doors. His love and connection to music carried him through life until the very end. 

He is survived by his sons, John Forgus (Kim) and Richie Forgus (Danneca), his baby girls, Jackie Shofner (Kyle) and Gabby Galayda (Dominic), and the Love of His Life of over 40 years, Barb, who was by his side until the very end.

He was a loving brother to his sisters Rita Narramore (David) and Patty Mazur (Tim), brother in law, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Chester and Rosemary, and his brother, Tommy, which whom he is finally reunited with after so many years. 

Rooster’s family is forever grateful to his home nurse and aid from Harmony, and to Holy Family Hospice for the special love and care he received. 

Private family services were cared for by Slone & Co. Funeral Directors. 

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
