Deacon Kenneth J. Hill, age 77, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025. Born on August 23, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the beloved son of the late Wilbert and Marcella Hill. Ken was a devoted husband to Sandy, his loving wife of 54 years, and a loving father to Ken Hill (Kristin), Dan Hill (Beth), Marcie Minerd (Kevin), John Hill, Katie Hill, and the late Shawn Hill. He was a cherished grandfather to Lindsey, Mikala, Sydney, Ryan, Collin, Nate, Ella, and a proud great-grandfather to Raelynn. He was also a dear brother to Barb Bruce (Don; Deceased) and the late John Hill and a treasured uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A man of deep faith and service, Ken served as a Deacon at St. Vincent de Paul for nearly 30 years. He also dedicated 35 years as a letter carrier for the United States Post Office.Ken will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The wake for Deacon Kenneth J. Hill will begin with vespers at 3 p.m. Feb. 3, 2025, in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 13400 Lorain Ave., Cleveland. Bishop Edward Malesic will preside and Father Jack Manning, St. Vincent de Paul pastor emeritus, will be the homilist. The wake will continue until 7 p.m. in the church. Auxiliary Bishop Michael Woost will be the main celebrant at Deacon Hill’s funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Feb. 4, 2025, in St. Vincent de Paul Church. Father John Pfeifer, St. Vincent de Paul pastor, will be the homilist. Inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
