Dorothy J. Livchak

Dorothy Joan Livchak (nee Longwell), 87, of Lorain passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Greenbrier Healthcare Center on July 19, 2018.
Born June 20, 1931 to Carl J. Sr. and Jeanette V. Longwell of Lorain. She is preceded in death by David Livchak and sister Patsy Willard. Survivors include sister June Solomon of North Ridgeville and brother Reverend Carl J. Longwell, Jr. of Clarence, NY; children Karen Majkut and her husband Joseph of Henrietta Township, OH, Scott Livchak and his wife Mary of Frisco, TX, Connie Livchak of Dublin, OH, Rob Livchak and his wife Amy of Lima, OH and Wes Livchak and his wife Jamie of Lakewood, OH; along with 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Dorothy was a graduate of Lorain Senior High School, class of 1949A, where she was a member of the “Jills” Club, A Capella Choir, and The National Honor Society. Dorothy enjoyed playing tennis as a youth, was an avid sports and music fan, and enjoyed celebrating the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.
Throughout her professional life, Dorothy served as a bookkeeper for Terminal Ready Mix, Black River Lumber Company, and JC Ready Mix. A devout Christian, she had a true passion for our Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of the former Calvary Temple of Sandusky where she was an active volunteer.
Condolences may be expressed on the Bollinger-Bican Funeral Home website www.bicanbros.com. A private graveside service will be conducted by Reverend Carl Longwell, Jr. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to: River’s Edge Church, 646 Cayuga Dr. Niagara Falls, NY 14304, Pastor Brett Longwell (nephew).
