Edith M. Lawson

Edith M. Lawson, age 94, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024. She was born on October 30, 1930, in Sevierville, Tennessee, to her loving parents, the late Bill and Sarah (nee Wardell) Flynn.

Beloved wife of the late Joe C. Lawson, Edith was a devoted mother to Lois Huff, Edward LaFollette, Bobby Lawson, and Joyce Gency. She was a cherished grandmother to Debbie Galati, DeAnna Valachek, Doug Huff, Aaron LaFollette, Haley Dos Santos, Michael LaFollette, Angela Ledger, Samantha Lawson, Kelly Davenport, Rachel Hale, and Randy Hale, and a treasured great-grandmother to Alyssa Galati, Dominic Galati, Matthew Valachek, Jaelyn Dos Santos, Isaiah Dos Santos, Eli Dos Santos, Mila LaFollette, Nadia Ledger, Alexandria Ledger, Angelica Ledger, Trent Lawson, Karter Davenport, Cora Davenport, Kayden Davenport, Nathan Hale, and Izabella Abruzzino.

Edith is preceded in death by her siblings: Fred Flynn, Johnny Flynn, Walter Flynn, Pearl Pitner, Amanda Ivey, and Loise Latham.

She had a passion for taking pictures and cherished looking through her photo albums. She loved listening to country and gospel music, with a special fondness for Elvis Presley. Edith’s Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life; she was devoted to her church, prayer, and sharing her love of Jesus Christ. Her greatest wish was for her family to embrace and follow the love of Christ.

Edith will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will forever carry her love and faith in their hearts.

Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 5 p.m. until time of service at 6:30 p.m., at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH 44111. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., at West Park Cemetery 3942 Ridge Rd, Cleveland, OH 44144 (please meet at gates by 10:45 a.m.).
