Edwin Torres Vargas

Edwin Torres Vargas, age 76, passed away on March 4, 2025. He was born on March 5, 1948, in Las Marías, Puerto Rico, to his loving parents, the late Emiliano Torres and Gloria Vargas.

Beloved husband of Candy Torres. Devoted father of Edwin Jr. (Mariam), Jose (Diana), Erica, Melissa, and Patricia (Benjamin). Cherished grandfather of Dominic, Leila, Letitia, Khalid, Tiffany, Yuliana, Matthew, Antonio, Benjamin Hunter, and Christopher, and great-grandfather of Kaiden. Dear brother of Auria, Natividad (Naty), Rosa Emilia (Chin), Emiliano (Nano), Osvaldo (Paito), Leyda, Providencia (Provy), Alfred, David, and the late Noel. Edwin was also loved by many nieces and nephews from Cleveland, Florida, North Carolina, New York, Maryland, Honduras, and Puerto Rico.

Edwin had a deep love for coffee, family time, and making jokes. He was surprisingly tech-savvy—often outpacing his grandchildren—and shared his passion for wrestling with his entire family. A man of wisdom and integrity, he led by example, teaching the values of hard work, love, and dedication. Known for his calm and reserved nature, he was the person everyone sought for advice.

Above all, Edwin was a cherished pillar of his family and community. He was the coolest uncle, the best father, and an even better grandfather. His love and guidance will be forever missed.

Family and friends are welcome on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 5 to 9 p.m., at Slone & Co. Life Celebration Center 3556 W. 130th St. Cleveland, OH 44111, where additional visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
