Fernando Marrero

Fernando Marrero, age 64, passed away on February 9, 2025. He was born on October 9, 1960, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, to his loving parents, Fernando Marrero and the late Hilda Iris Cruz.

A devoted father, he leaves behind his beloved children, Fernando Jr., Rosa Iris, Emanuel, and Miriam Marrero, and their mother, Blasina DeJesus. He was a cherished grandfather to Fernando I. Marrero, Mezziah E. Guzman, Elijah C. Guzman, Giovonni I. Marrero, Leilanni N. Guzman, Lillianna A. Velez, Emanuel Marrero, Jr., Josiah R. Guzman, Anayaliz Z. Velez, Zairis M. Velez, and Matias A. Velez. He was also a dear brother to many and a treasured uncle to a host of nieces and nephews.

Fernando shared his life with his loving companion, Marissa Valentin. He was a great role model for his family, demonstrating the value of hard work and perseverance, continuing to work even after retirement. A staple in the family, he brought loved ones together with his ideas and gatherings, always prioritizing family and the bonds they shared.

Known as the life of the party, he had an extraordinary ability to bring joy and laughter wherever he went. His infectious spirit and warm presence brightened the lives of all who knew him. Despite his vibrant personality, he remained a humble soul, always putting others first and lifting them up without ever seeking the spotlight. His legacy of kindness, humor, and humility will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Family and friends are welcome on Saturday, February 22, 2025, and Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Slone & Co. Life Celebration Center 3556 W. 130th St. Cleveland, OH 44111, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Interment Riverside Cemetery.
