George Luis Cruz, born on December 26, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully in Cleveland, Ohio, December 6, 2024. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, leaving behind a rich legacy of love and cherished memories.
George was a man of many passions. He treasured long walks in the Cleveland Metro Parks, where he would often reflect on life and appreciate the beauty of nature. An enthusiastic player of cribbage and an excellent pool player, he enjoyed both the challenge of these games and the time shared with family and friends in their friendly competition. His strong ties to family were celebrated in every joyful gathering and instilled with a foundation of Christian faith who exemplified compassion and integrity throughout his life.
George is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Monica (nee Pshock) Cruz; loving children Nicholas (Kim), Angela, Jonathan, Joseph (Hannah), Michael (Kayla), and Benjamin; and cherished grandchildren Owen Cheney, Elise Pshock, and Gavin Pshock.
He is also survived by his dear siblings, Rafaela Cruz, Migdalia Flores, Jesus (Maribel) Cruz, and many nieces and nephews.
George is reuinited in heaven with his beloved parents, Juana Gonzalez and Lino Cruz, who have preceded him in death, along with his grandson, Xavier Cruz, and brother, Antonio Santiago. Their memories will be fondly honored by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 6 p.m., at West Park Evangelical Friends Church 3780 W. 140th St. Cleveland, OH 44111.
