Germaine R. Hahnel

Dr. Germaine R. Hahnel, MD, age 87, passed away February 18, 2019. Beloved daughter of the late John K. Hahnel and Lottie Schmotzer Hahnel Rybak. Dearest cousin of Kathleen Riddle (Donald), Mary Thibodeaux, Linda Roberts (Michael), Timothy Frantz (Mary Ann), Kim Hrvatin (George) and a host of other cousins. Dearest friend of Donna Buchholz who was also her caregiver. Special friend of the late Shirley Babitt. Germaine was the Matriarch of the Stroemple / Schmotzer descendents. During her family practice she delivered over 800 babies. She was a chairman of the Fairview General Hospital family practice department and the first director of the residency training program for physicians in family practice. Friends received Monday February 25, from 4 to 8 pm at the SLONE & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 13115 Lorain Ave., Cleveland, OH 44111.
