James Tobin of South Amherst, Ohio passed peacefully and unexpectedly on Monday, March 27, 2023. Loving and caring father of Debra Fallon, Michael (Anna), Patrick (deceased), Daniel (Karen), Jeffrey, Maureen Guzay (John) and Erin Hannum (Ralph). Grandfather of 18 and great-grandfather of nine.
Dear son to his parents the late William E. and Blanche (nee Lamare) Tobin. Brother of John, Margaret Grazadei (Mike), Mary Sapanos (David), and Paul. Loving companion of Carol Skowronsky. He was a special person and loved by his many nieces and nephews.
A proud Navy Seabee veteran, long-serving retire of IBEW Local 38, member of the American Legion Post #118, South Amherst Council #4891, and a member of the Knights of Columbus #2790, Jim touched the lives of many.
Family and friends are welcomed MONDAY, APRIL 3, 2023 FROM 3-7 PM AT SLONE & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 13115 LORAIN AVENUE, CLEVELAND, OHIO 44111 where a Rosary will be prayed at 7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 4th at 10AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst, Ohio 44001 (PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH) . Inurnment services will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 11:15 AM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio 44273. (PLEASE MEET AT THE CEMETERY NO LATER THAN 11:00 AM by the information center).
