On January 11, 2022, with head held high, James Jonathan Viancourt marched through the gates of heaven and into the welcoming arms of his grandparents who had preceded him: James & Margaret Bowler and Edward & Margaret Viancourt. James is the cherished son of Mary Ann (Emma) Bowler and Robert E. Viancourt. He is survived by the pride and joy of his life, his beloved son, Alexander Jonathan Webb, and legions of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank those who supported James through the many physical challenges he dealt with over the years -- most especially, Amanda Webb, Holly Reese, Kristi Sommerfeld, and Tom Gilbert, each of whom was amazing in their efforts to expand Jim’s participation in life as he became more limited and confined.
Jim admittedly was a quirky kind of guy. He loved Pepsi (after which one of his huskies was named), nachos with cheese, cars, dolphins, and watching Alex bowl. Our hearts are broken and it’s going to be very strange not being able to count on his unorthodox outlook on the world and ever-surprising sense of humor.
Family and close friends are invited to join in a Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, January 22, from 2-4 PM, at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors, 13115 Lorain Ave., Cleveland, OH 44111. Wearing of mask requested. The family suggests that contributions be made in Jim’s memory to a new nonprofit organization created to provide holistic support to cognitively delayed and/or disabled adults: InclusionWorks, 5855 Smith Road, Brook Park, OH 44142.
