Jerry W. Lucas, age 48, was a Loving father to Shane Lucas; Beloved son of Flossie and the late Willie Edward Lucas; Dearest brother of Randall Scott Lucas (Stacee Shank); Dear uncle of David Lucas and Nephew of Victor and Vivian Coots, William and Linda Donovan and the late Jeffrey Coots. He was a good friend, and best of all a good person. He has lived with his mother Flossie for many years in the city of Cleveland, and will be missed especially by her. He will also be missed by his devoted companion Bella. He took his last peaceful breath at Fairview Hospital on Saturday, February 7th 2015 at 10:56 AM.
He was passionate about sports, home teams specifically, which included the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns, and The Ohio State University. Doing the daily errands was not at all a hassle for him; in fact, he cherished doing the simple things in life. Whether it was fishing, watching sports, shopping, planting flowers, talking about God with mom, or mowing peoples’ yards, happiness is the feeling he absorbed.
Though taken from us early, he lived a fulfilling life, and impacted others by direct and indirect ways. If there are two things he will remember, it’s the loved ones that surrounded him when most needed, and The Ohio State University National Championship game that played for him while he was relaxing in bed. Sports, Cleveland, and God are three words that would sum up what made him happiest. Take this moment to reflect on the good and healthy times, because it’s what he would want.
Family and friends are welcome in the Bollinger-Bican Funeral Home 9810 Denison Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44102 on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 3:00-6:00pm with memorial service at 5:45pm.
