John Edward Johnson

John Edward Johnson of North Ridgeville went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on May 6, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  Born July 27, 1940 in Chapmanville, WV to the late Rachel (Queen) and Oza Johnson.  John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen Jean (Detwiler).  Loving father of Patricia Ann Johnson-Kramer (Peter) of Scottsdale, AZ & Dawn Marie Turrano (Bart) of Sarver, PA. Dear grandfather of MacKenzie, Michaela & Hunter.  Survived by his sister in law Maureen Johnson of Medina, OH.  He was preceded in death by his parents Oza and Rachel Johnson and his brother Thomas Johnson. Funeral Services Thursday , May 9, 2019 at 8 am at the Cleveland Baptist Church 4431 Tiedeman Rd., Brooklyn, Ohio. Interment to follow at 10:30 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Following the burial the family would like to invite everyone back at Cleveland Baptist Church for a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Family and friends are welcome at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Avenue, Cleveland on Wednesday, May 8th from 4 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to either Hospice of the Western Reserve - Lorain Office, 2173 N Ridge Rd., Lorain, OH 44055 and/or Cleveland Baptist Church, 4431 Tiedeman Rd., Brooklyn, OH 44144.
