Jose Antonio Pedro, Sr., lovingly known as “Tony,” age 62, passed away on April 18, 2025. Born on December 11, 1962, in Cleveland, Ohio, Tony was the beloved son of the late Rafael Pedro Lopez and Ana Pedro Vasquez.
Tony was the devoted husband of the late Nekia Renee Pedro and the proud and loving father of Jose A. Pedro, Jr., Nicholas R. Huynh, Isaiah A. Pedro, and the late Dominic C. Pedro. He was a cherished grandfather to Dominic and Vanya Huynh, and a dear brother to Evelyn Pedro, Janet Pedro, and Carlos (Jill) Pedro. He was preceded in death by his siblings Rafael Pedro, Jr., David Pedro, and Alberto Pedro.
He was a treasured uncle to Alexander Pedro (deceased), Rafael Pedro III, Mona (Nigel) Hodge, David (Kim) Pedro, Jr., Jason Pedro, Roscoe (Madeline) Woodberry II, Khaleel (Amanda) Williams, Khaled (Jen) Williams, Jameel Williams, and many great-nieces and nephews who adored him.
Tony served his community with pride and integrity as a dedicated police officer for the City of Cleveland, retiring in 2018 after 25 years of service in the 1st District. Respected by his peers and deeply appreciated by those he protected, Tony left behind a legacy of loyalty, service, and compassion.
To know Tony was to know warmth, humor, and a deep love for family. He was the kind of man who made everyone feel like family at a cookout, where he could often be found behind the grill with a smile. He found joy in camping with the family at their camper. Tony had a passion for motorcycles, proudly riding his Harley and collecting shirts from Harley-Davidson stores across the country. He enjoyed the simple pleasures—watching wrestling, classic westerns, visiting the racetrack, and listening to country and salsa music.
Tony was a rock to his family and a true friend to many. His humor, strength, and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear.
