Judy Marie Ellis was born on January 26, 1954 in Independence, Louisiana to the late Lorine King and Dave Ellis; Judy was the only child born to this union. Judy’s maternal grandparents Johnny and Felice King and paternal grandparents preceded her in death along with her Uncle Nip and Aunt Irene who treated Judy as their own child.

Judy attended school in Michigan, Michigan Heights for the primary grades and finally graduating from Benton Harbor High School Class of 1972. Judy received Christ as a young child and was baptized as a child. Years after high school Judy would make her way to Cleveland, Ohio and in 1988 Judy would marry Ernest Frazier and became a mother to his son, Lamont Frazier.

Judy spent a lot of time in books and watching movies where she could lose herself amongst the characters; suspense, thrillers, mysteries and sci-fi were her favorites. Judy has a great love of music and she loved all kinds of music. Judy had a green thumb out of this world and her plants were her babies; she talked to them, played music for them, and fondly named them after people.

Judy dedicated her life to serving and nurturing others and spent over 35 years caring for residents and patients at the Eliza Jennings Nursing Home, Lutheran Hospital and spending 18 of those years as a Clinical Technician at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. While working at the Eliza Jennings nursing home, Judy would meet her eternal best friend Sharon Sawyer who she lovingly referred to as “Bush”

In 2007 Judy met and later became engaged to Kevin C. Madison who preceded her in death. This special relationship made Judy an integral part of the Madison family, sharing dinners on Sunday, movies, daily phone calls, fun and laughs.

Judy transitioned from this earthly life on November 23, 2020. Throughout her life, Judy made strangers into friends and had a profound impact on the countless lives she touched. Judy leaves to cherish her memory numerous individual some related by blood, some dear friends, some mere acquaintances but all were loved relatives. Judy’s life brought many people together.

Judy Frazier leaves behind her ex-husband Ernest Frazier, son Elocious L. Frazier (Swenette), grandchildren LaMya S. Frazier, Quiandra R. Frazier and Alexander Rendell III; Sister in laws Renee and Diane Frazier; Williett Madison (who Judy referred to as Ma Madison), Michelle D. Madison (who Judy called Teacake) Kevin’s son and daughter Christopher and Christine Madison; Chelsea, DaMone and Jeffrey Madison; Deonte Wright; Cor’Dai and Carli Griffin; Kaylah Simpson; K’Lynn Madison; very special friends Joann Pearson; Leslie Watson (Suga Cup); Tracy (T-Bug); Barbara McMahan (who Judy referred to as Auntie Barb); Joe and Rhonda Harmotta; Mel from the Jennings Nursing Home and Polly; and a host of  cousins in Michigan and Hammond, White Castle and Bayou Goula, Louisiana.

Judy was a Proverbs 31 women – she is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Many women do noble things, but you surpass then all.” Family and friends are welcome on Friday, December 4, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Slone & Co.
