Lydia Rodriguez

Lydia Rodriguez, age 87, passed away on March 10, 2025. She was born on August 18, 1937, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, to her loving parents, the late Anselmo Acevedo and Antonia Lafontaine. Beloved wife of the late Cesar E. Rodriguez.

Devoted mother of Bernice (Stephen) Major and Cesar Raul (Raquel). Cherished grandmother of Jessica Neal (Andrew), Elizabeth (Deceased), Jacob Major, Abigail Major, Jonathan Major, Katherine K. Rodriguez, Jose Jimenez, and Yentl Jimenez, and great-grandmother of Samuel, Nora, Elias, Benjamin, Maria, Kevin, Adiel, and Abrielle.

Dear sister of Anibal, Sergio, Carmen, Anselmo (Guillin), Felix, Aida, Andres, Rafael, Anamelia, Fredesvinda (Freddy), Amilcar, Leticia, Antonio, and Efrain. Treasured aunt to a host of nieces and nephews.

Lydia had a deep love for her family and friends, treating everyone she met like family. Her warmth and kindness were evident in the way she cared for others. She had a passion for plants of all kinds and found joy in nurturing them. Most importantly, she had an unwavering faith in Jesus and instilled that love and trust in her family. No matter the challenges she faced with her health, she always reminded those around her to trust in the Lord to guide them through life's trials. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m., where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., at Slone & Co. Life Celebration Center 3556 W. 130th St. Cleveland, OH 44111. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Riverside Cemetery 3607 Pearl Rd. Cleveland, OH 44109 (please meet at gates by 10:45 a.m.).
