Maria Molina

Maria Molina, age 91, passed away on March 4, 2025. She was born on September 2, 1933, in Villalba, Puerto Rico, to her loving parents, Francisco Laboy and Elisa Gonzalez.

Maria was the beloved wife of the late Martin Molina and a devoted mother to Martin Molina, Jr., Gertrudis (Tito) Molina, Cruz Maria Fuentes, Jose Abel Molina, and Betsy Molina Schafer. She was a cherished grandmother to Gertrudis (Tito) Molina III, Martin Molina III, Anthony Fuentes, Cassandra Fuentes, Barbara Ortiz, Samuel Jose Molina, Olivia Molina, Emilio Schafer, and Gabriel Schafer, and a proud great-grandmother to Francisco Molina, Taia Molina, Arlo Ortiz, Izabella Ortiz, Ethan Ortiz, Gabriella Molina, Silas Molina, Camdon Molina, Paxton Molina, and Brynlee Molina.

She was a dear sister to Cecilia Laboy, Clementina Laboy, Elba Laboy, Nelida Laboy, Elmogene Laboy, and the late Eduardo Laboy and Natividad Laboy. Maria was also blessed with many nieces and nephews who brought great joy to her life.

Maria embodied a remarkable blend of creativity and an unwavering work ethic. Above all, she was deeply devoted to her family and community. Her faith was steadfast, and she cherished her church, forming a special bond with a group of women who adored her. Maria’s kindness, wisdom, and love touched the lives of many, leaving an enduring legacy of warmth and generosity.

She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH 44111. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 10 a.m., at Parroquia de La Sagrada Familia 7719 Detroit Ave, Cleveland, OH 44102 (please meet at church). Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
