Marilyn June Lindsey "Fatso" Canfield, passed away at the age of 84. She was born in Cleveland, OH to late Maryland Virginia Thornton Lindsey and Harold Ellsworth Lindsey. Her parents nicknamed her "Fatso" as a baby and it became a term of endearment throughout her life. She was fond of her nickname and it was how everyone greeted her. Beloved wife of late Robert Franklin Canfield (U.S. Veteran), married on Christmas Eve in 1958. They were married for 34 years, until his passing in 1992. Marilyn was a stay-at-home mother who enjoyed yardwork, keeping an immaculate home, and preparing meals for family and friends, most especially during the holidays. Summer was her favorite time of the year and she enjoyed swimming, good food and family picnics. Everyone who knew her always said that she made the very best fried chicken and potato salad. She loved tea, long conversations, romantic songs and old Hollywood movies. Her favorite film was 'Picnic' (1956) starring William Holden and Kim Novak. She spent many years collecting and studying autobiographies, and took a particular interest in the lives of Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn appreciated the artwork of Thomas Kinkade and enjoyed putting together puzzles of his work in her spare time. She also loved music, her favorite artists being The Carpenters, Johnny Mathis and Billy Joel. She adored the color purple. She walked everywhere she went and always looked after her health. Throughout her life, she enjoyed sharing company with others, socializing and reminiscing most of all.
