He was born on July 18, 1948, in Zanesville, Ohio, to his loving parents, William H. and Sarah Ruth (nee Reed) Trott. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Melva (nee Trott) Fineran-Mathes, Shirley A. Trott, and John W. Trott.
Michael is survived by his beloved daughter, Amanda Norton (Matt), and his only grandchildren, Caden Michael Joseph and Tyler Matthew Lee Norton. Michael proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran. He enlisted in the Army on March 22, 1967, after graduating from Adamsville High School. He served as a Private First Class with the 15th Combat Engineers in Vietnam, undergoing training at Fort Jackson, Mississippi, and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, before deploying overseas. After his honorable service in the Army, Michael worked as a truck driver, roofer, and an accomplished carpenter.
Michael truly loved his family and friends. He was a talented pencil artist and enjoyed playing the acoustic guitar and harmonica. His love for nature, animals, and classic cars and trucks was evident in all that he did. Michael was rarely seen without his signature cowboy hat.
A burial at a National Cemetery in Ohio will take place at a later date, where Michael will be honored with a full Military Honors service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rest in peace, Cowboy.
