Mildred L. Vargo (Millie), 80, passed away peacefully on December 28th, 2024. She was a cherished Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. Millie leaves a legacy of love, importance of family and of humor.
Millie was the beloved daughter of the late Kermit C. and Mildred Farley (nee Sims), born on May 9, 1944, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. She moved with her family to Ellamore, West Virginia where she spent many happy years; she then moved to Newbury, Ohio with her family at the age of 15. She married Bill Vargo in 1963, and they moved to Cleveland, Ohio where they raised their family
Millie truly cherished her family and is survived by her three children William Vargo, Debra (nee Vargo) Sleva (Bryan), and Robert Vargo (Mindy); her beloved Grandchildren Tiffany Quigley, Sara Hickok, Robert Short, Benjamin Hickok, Emma Vargo, and Calvin Hill; and her Great Grandchildren Calvin and Jack Quigley
Millie was the loving sister to Constance Griffith (deceased) (John (deceased), Linda Zagorski (Richard (deceased)), James Farley (deceased) (Christine), Kermit D. Farley (deceased), Sharon, Patrick Farley, and Darlene Wooten (deceased). She was a dear Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was a sweet hardworking woman who could throw out a good “zinger” that would have you laughing till you cried. She loved her flower garden and would stop at every yard sale she saw. Millie taught us the importance of family as she was always happiest when she was surrounded by the people that she loved. Millie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all that knew her.
A Celebration of Life is being planned; the details will be shared at a later date.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Slone & Co. Funeral Directors.
