Monica B. Novak, age 89, passed away on August 24, 2024. Born on August 5, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of the late Luciano and Anne (nee Mishik) Bonsignore. Monica was the beloved wife of the late Charles A. Novak, Sr. She is survived by her devoted children: Charles A. Novak, Jr., Annette L. Hocter (William J. Hocter, Jr., M.D.), Louis T. Novak, Frank R. Novak (Beth Ann), and Monica M. Renahan (James). She was a loving grandmother of 20, great-grandmother 20, and great-great-grandmother 3, who treasured every moment with her family. Monica is also remembered by her dear sister, Agatha Schabel (Raymond - deceased), and her cherished nieces, AnnaMarie Stanich and Melissa Friedrichsen. Loving cousin of Frank Riba (Alma) and the late Donna Heasley.
Monica had a deep love for her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending her time doing embroidery and crafts. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends are welcome on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH 44111. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 10 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Church 13400 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH 44111 (please meet at church). Inurnment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the St. Ignatius High School Instrumental Music Program 1911 W. 30 St. Cleveland, 44113 or the John Carroll University Class of 1957 Endowed Scholarship Fund 20700 North Park Blvd. University Hts., 44118.
