Mozetta (nee Bufford) Parker, born on November 16, 1956, departed this world on October 17, 2024, leaving behind a legacy woven into the very fabric of those who knew and cherished her. A woman of multiple talents, Mozetta worked in the hotel service industry and factory work, yet it was in the nurturing embrace of her home that she truly flourished as a beloved homemaker.
Affectionately known as Ms. Moe and Doodle, her laughter and warmth encapsulated the spirit of her favorite color, yellow, embodying a personality that radiated positivity and joy. Mozetta's zest for life was evident in her engaging pastimes; she found satisfaction in the simplicity of spending time with family, friends, and her favorite canine companion Roxy. Her passion for games, particularly backgammon, brought countless evenings of friendly competition, camaraderie, and shared memories. An aficionado of latchhook crafts, she crafted beauty with her hands, while her love for game shows provided entertainment and delight. The thrill of gambling presented another avenue of enjoyment, with trips to casinos and shopping outings marking moments of adventure and excitement.
Mozetta is survived by her loving children, Galen T. Parker and Almanetta Parker, alongside her former spouse, Galen Parker. She also leaves behind her cherished daughter, Jasmine Wells, and Jasmine's father, Louis Wells. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren—Rozetta Keys, Jaylen Knox, Dawon Lee, Tye'shawn Lee, Javazz Williams, Javon Williams, De'aveon Johnson, Isaiah Parker, Jeremiah Parker, Jaden Bloodworth, and Dechey Staggers—each a testament to her legacy, further complemented by many great-grandchildren, extended family and a plethora of friends who found joy in her companionship.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents Moses and Alma Bufford, two siblings and nieces and nephews.
The cherished memories of Mozetta will find a permanent place in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we gather to commemorate her life, visitation will take place at the Slone & Co Life Celebration Center in Cleveland, Ohio, on October 28, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
