Norman Howard

Norman Howard, 69, passed away after a two and a half year battle with cancer on September 17, 2018.  Many of his close friends and family visited with him in the last weeks of his life, and he was surrounded by love when he passed on.  He was a loving and loyal son, brother, partner, and friend.  He was a proud Ohio State alumnus and Buckeye fan.  He was a Peace Corps volunteer, Cleveland and East Cleveland public school teacher, volunteer, and mentor.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Mildred Parks Howard, his sister, Judy Petty (Johnny), and brothers Clarence, Louis, and Sheldon.  He is survived by his sister, Paulette Harper (Ricky), many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his beloved partner and best friend of 35 years, Dennis Duffy.  A memorial service for close family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Norman's memory may be made  to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Seidman Cancer Center at UH, or Metrohealth Medical Center.
