Pauline Jane Sterben

The Pauline Jane Sterben, age 89, passed away on April 17, 2025. She was born on August 11, 1935, in Buffalo, New York, to her loving parents, the late James and Lillian Short.

Beloved wife of Richard J. Sterben. Devoted mother of Kathleen Meyer, Christopher Sterben, Kurt Sterben (Georgette), Colleen DiMatteo (Larry), and the late Paula Sterben. Cherished grandmother of Colin Meyer, Kelsey Meyer (Adam), Sydney Sterben, and Ian DiMatteo. Dear sister of the late Marion and Edward Short, and treasured aunt of Laurie, Brian, and James Short.

Pauline had a deep love for plants, reading, and cats, especially Scottish Folds. She was a passionate collector of Waterford Crystal. A woman of faith, she served as a Eucharistic minister and was actively involved with the Newman Center at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
