On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, Penelope B. Martin (affectionately known as Penny) loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt went home to be with the Lord at the age of 80. One of the strongest women we’ll ever know. Penny was born February 7, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio to Marko A. Voljato Jr and Claribell Meckes. She has three brothers Larry (Donna), Thomas (deceased), Nicholas (deceased), and three sisters Yvonne, Carol (deceased), and Cheryl (deceased). Penny graduated from Jane Adams High School in 1960. While in high school she learned to become an amazing seamstress and designed her own dress for Prom.
Shortly after graduating high school Penny met and married William Schiller (deceased). From their union came four children David (deceased), Christine, Sandra, and Stacey (William). A few years later Penny endured some unfortunate situations, and tried to make the best of her circumstances, she always put her faith in God first. She then conceived two additional blessings during these times, a son Joseph, and a daughter Bridgett.
After overcoming several obstacles, she was able to get back on track. She worked as a waitress at a place called the Wine and Roses, where she met and married her last husband Senora L. Martin (deceased), and her dearest friend Linda Kuzan (deceased). Penny and Don lived in a beautiful home in East Cleveland, and from that union came their daughter Tiffany (Wayne Sr.). Penny pursued a career as a seamstress, and during her free time, she enjoyed preparing for holiday gatherings for her family and close friends.
Later, she returned to the Westside of Cleveland where she originally grew up, accepting a position with Progressive Plastics. Over ten plus years, Penny received several exceptional employee and perfect attendance awards. She retired at the age of 68, and after retiring she enjoyed spending time and helping with the upbringing of her grandchildren who will miss her tremendously. She leaves to cherish a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Penelope was her family’s matriarch and will be deeply missed by all.
