Richard Lee Prokay

Richard Lee Prokay, age 84, passed away on December 29, 2022. He leaves behind Margaret June Prokay (nee. Proe), his beloved and blessed wife of 42 years. Father to Denise (Craig) Bourne, James (Sheila, nee. Clevinger) Prokay, John (Lisa, nee. Maldonado) Prokay, and the late Richard K. Prokay. Grandfather to 13, great grandfather to 20, and great great grandfather to 4. Son of the late Steve and Gladys Prokay (nee. Vaughn). Brother to Steve (Emmy) Prokay, Emery (Marilyn) Prokay, Doris (Richard) Armstrong, Dorothy (Al) Smelko, and Elizabeth (Jack) Blakemore. Loved by many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and enough friends to fill a NASCAR stadium. Richard proudly served his country for 4 years in the United States Navy, where he was honorably discharged. During this time, he honed his cooking skills that the family benefited from over the years. Richard’s legacy stretched across many generations, touching countless lives along his journey. He will be remembered as a kind and caring man with a magnetic personality. Anchors away my dear! God Speed!

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH. 44111, where funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, 2023, at 2 p.m. Interment West Park Cemetery.
