Russell Wilbur Lockyer

Russell Wilbur Lockyer, age 95, passed away on August 31, 2024. He was born on July 5, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio, Russell was the cherished son of the late Gladys Lockyer. Beloved husband of the late Mary Lockyer, Russell was a devoted father to Russell Lockyer (Barbara), Keith Lockyer (Linda), and Mark Lockyer (Lynn). He was a loving grandfather to Nicole Suster (Mike), Brian Lockyer (Rebecca), Scott Lockyer (Brittany), Mark Lockyer, Benjamin Lockyer (Bailey), Jordan Lockyer, Rachel Lockyer, and a proud great-grandfather to Isabella Suster, Dillon Suster, and Angel. Russell was predeceased by his brother George Lockyer and is survived by his sister Phyllis Berry. Russell was a treasured uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A proud veteran, Russell served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a Past Commodore of Gordon Shore Boat Club and a dedicated member of VFW Post 6676 and American Legion Post 91. Russell was passionate about boating, camping, fishing, and bowling, and he found great joy in sharing these hobbies with his family and friends.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave. Cleveland, OH 44111. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
