Sean Edwin Butler, age 63, passed away on February 8, 2022. He was born on January 29, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio to James T. Butler and Mary (nee Bania) Butler.
He is survived by his dear children, Dawn Mbomyo, (Jose), Dena, Sean (deceased) infant) and Kevin Yovanno; siblings, Ann Dier (Bill), Mark (deceased), Tom (Michelle) and Jim (Trisha); cherished grandchildren, Mary Grace, Johse “Tito,” Christian and Justin; loving companion Diane Dobeck; and many nieces and nephews.
Sean was a gifted athlete, having excelled at Football, Basketball, and Track & Field at Brooklyn High School; holding the record for High Jump (6’5) that was not broken for more than 20 years.
Sean was an avid golfer and enjoyed keeping up with and attending the football and basketball games of his beloved nieces and nephews.
He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, with whom he invented games involving sprinting and math drills – where they eagerly competed to answer Grandpa Sean’s question of “who’s fastest?”
What many will remember most about Sean was his quick wit, amazing sense of humor and ability to make us laugh with his expressions and spot-on impersonations. With his good-natured personality, he got along with anyone and everyone, and was loved by all who knew him.
