Shirley Ann Thompson-Gresham

Shirley Ann Thompson-Gresham was born on December 22 1946 in Cleveland Ohio. Loving daughter to Lillie Mae Thompson Compas and Willie Frank Robinson , both preceded her in death. Shirley was educated in the Cleveland Public School District from elementary to John Hay, She went on to obtain her GED. Shirley was raised in the church and accepted Christ at a young age , She was baptized at the age of 10, and a member of the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Wimbush in the year of 1956 , and later joined the Peoples Church under the leadership of Rev. Johnathan Ealy. She was employed with the Cleveland Public School District for 10 years. From there she went to gain employment with the County of Cuyahoga where she worked until retirement. In the year 1989 she met her husband Richard Gresham ( who preceded her in death ) and they were united in wedlock in December of 1992 . Shirley enjoyed playing bingo , taking bus trips to casinos , dancing ,music and having family gatherings , picnics , birthday parties and most of all having fun with family . Shirley fought a good fight , she finished her race and kept her faith. On Monday December 16th 2019 at 10:30 am Shirley gained her wings. Shirley leaves to cherish her memories one sister Gloria J. Green ( Lamar) and one brother James Edward Compas . Eight Children : Felicia J Coles ( James ), Shirlene Thompson ( Demitrius ), Deborah A Thompson, Khadejah Thompson, Aaron Thompson ( Simone ), Joe L Thompson ( Brittany ), Lamont Thompson, Shaun Thompson, one stepson Aron  ( AC ) Williams ( who preceded her in death ), Almeida Linder ( niece that was considered one of her children ), Laquntus Green ( nephew who couldn't stay from under her ), Loving Grandmother of 42 and Great-Grandmother of 33. Aunt of 8 nieces and 3  nephews and a very large host of relatives and friends . She was surely loved by everyone that crossed her path. Family and friends are welcome on Monday, December 23, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at Slone & Co. Funeral Directors 13115 Lorain Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44111. Interment Riverside Cemetery.
