Vanessa Lewis was born on December 8, 1967; in Cleveland, Ohio to proud parents, Annie Lewis (deceased), and Edward Carroll (deceased). Vanessa confessed and accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age.
Vanessa was educated in the Cleveland Public School System at Shaw High School, where she obtained her high school diploma. Vanessa went to school and received her license as a Nursing Assistant where she worked in the nursing field for 10+ years. Shortly after, she decided to pursue her career in childcare and opened up her own home childcare service.
She always had a passion for helping and taking care of children. She had a passion for helping everyone.
Vanessa took on a role of a wonderful mother of 4 children and 5 grandchildren.
For 6+ years Vanessa pursued a career as a Bindery Associate at Dorn Color.
Vanessa loved and cared for her entire family through thick and thin. She was always the one that everyone came to for love and support, not only did she talk, she listened. She adored spending time with her grandchildren, even though she was a grandmother for 5 years our kids were able to meet the best person in our world. She loved her games shows, cooking shows and old school sitcoms. Vanessa was always playing the lottery. She always had that contagious smile that caught everyone's attention. She will truly be missed and never forgotten. She leaves behind her love to her four children Rysheta Lewis (Jordan), Rashaunda Penland (Prince), Lacey Penland (Alphonzo Sr.), William Penland (Isabelle); Her five grandchildren, Journi Wright, Alphonzo Watkins Jr, A'marianna Penland, Aubriella Penland and A'lonna Watkins; her brothers and sisters Mercedes Carroll, Kimberly Lewis, Teressa Stewart (Bruce), Angela Lewis, Fred Carroll and Jerome Carroll, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and plenty more family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her brother Dwayne Carroll.
