Yvonne S. Richmond

Yvonne S. Richmond, age 89

Yvonne grew up on a large farm.  She graduated high school in 1953.  She came to Cleveland, she married and had 3 sons: Booker, Eric (deceased) and Phillip.  

Yvonne went back to school in 1979, starting at Community College, majoring in mental health studies, she continued in behavioral science and obtained her bachelor’s degree.  She worked at University Settlement as a social work supervisor, housing homeless families with children.  She continued her education in substance abuse, obtaining a Certification in Chemical Dependency in counseling.

Yvonne converted to Catholicism in 1982 at St. Aloysius Church in Glenville.  Her daily prayers were for thanking God for her family, for homeless and abused children and too many more things to enumerate.

In the mid 1980’s she came to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.  She was a lecture, which she truly loved and she was a member of The Altar and Rosary Society.

She stated that the best thing ever to happen to her was conversion to Catholicism.
