And while people may know a lot about cremation, there is even more that they may not know about it. Cremation

Cremation is very straightforward. When a person has chosen cremation, their body will be put into a casket that is easy to burn, and then that casket will be put into the cremation chamber. Once the body is turned to ash, it will be returned to the family. Once the ashes are returned, the family can do as they please with them.

What Types of Cremation Exist?

  • Traditional Cremation - Traditional cremation is one of the more popular forms of cremation. This form is on par with a traditional funeral. There is a wake, and a funeral and the body of the deceased has most likely been embalmed. The difference comes at the end of the funeral. There is no traveling to the cemetery. Your relative's body is taken to be cremated, and then you will be given their ashes.

  • Memorial Cremation - If you do not wish to have a traditional cremation, there is the choice to have a memorial cremation. This form of cremation is meant to be a celebration of the life of the person you lost. They can take place days, weeks, and even months after they have died. What’s interesting about memorial cremations is that the ashes of the deceased do not have to be present. You could just have photos if you would like.

  • Direct Cremation - This is the quickest and cheapest form of cremation. You and your family can choose this form if you are not interested in spending a lot of money.

  • Types of Urns - There are several types of urns on the market for interested families. The urns can hold different amounts of ashes, and they even come in different shapes or sizes. If you are interested in an urn that is made from something other than metal, they exist as well.

  • Ash Spreading - For those people who are not interested in urns at all, there is ash spreading. You and your family can find an area you find suitable and spread the ashes of your loved one. You should make sure that it is legal to spread ashes in the area you have picked before you do so.
